About the Langdon Park Cluster
The Langdon Park Cluster is situated around Poplar on the Eastern edge of Tower Hamlets. It contains seven Primary a Special School/Inclusion Unit and the first Sports College in Tower Hamlets, Langdon Park.
Culloden, Manorfield and Lansbury Lawrence are the bigger Primary Schools in the cluster, all being two form entry, whilst Mayflower is a one and a half form entry school. Bygrove, Holy Family and Woolmore are a little smaller being one form entry. Harpley School was a Special School for children with Emotional and Behavioural difficulties, but has gradually been phased out to become a School Inclusion Unit, and as such has a very small cohort of children.
Langdon Park itself is a mixed school with around 900 children between the ages of 11-16. The school has developed a close relationship with the local Primary Schools through the Poplar Partnership Education Action Zone which has been running for approximately five years, and the School Sport Partnership programme and Sports College status has strengthen these bonds. All of the schools in the cluster have children from a highly diverse mixture of backgrounds, and this is apparent in the sports that are popular. Football, athletics and cricket are particularly strong in the area although Langdon Park itself takes pride in offering an incredibly diverse range of sports in order to cater for all of its pupils' interests.
The school's PE spaces have been developed extensively in recent years and Langdon Park now arguably boasts the best school sporting facilities in the area.
