Tower Hamlets is a vibrant and diverse east London borough with a rich and colourful history. We have the highest percentage of under 18s anywhere in the UK and despite a backdrop of poverty and deprivation, we have young people with truly inspirational energy and talent. Equally inspirational are our professional staff whose innovation and dedication helps release and support those talents every day.
There are many barriers to sporting participation in Tower Hamlets - some cultural, some financial, some geographical, some related to safety, some related to facilities and access, and some related to the coaching workforce. The Tower Hamlets Youth Sport Foundation is deeply committed to overcoming those barriers by putting young people at the centre of our service. Young people should not be restricted by their circumstances or background and so we have developed a unique approach to developing youth sport that reacts to individual needs by providing outstanding opportunities and support for young people in Tower Hamlets to reach their potential, realise their ambitions and develop personally through sport.
